In a city defined by speed and immediacy, decore.ae proposes a different rhythm. Founded by Sarah Sakr Khoury, the platform moves between object, service, and experience, positioning itself not simply as a destination for gifting, but as a considered system through which objects enter daily life.

“Decore.ae was born from something very personal,” Khoury reflects. “After more than two decades in multinational corporations, and as a mother of two, I came to understand deeply how much convenience matters… but I also felt strongly that convenience should never come at the expense of elegance, beauty, or meaning.” What began in 2023 as an attempt to simplify the act of giving quickly evolved into something more layered, where the object, its presentation, and its afterlife are all part of the same narrative.

Central to this is curation. Each piece, whether a candle, a porcelain object, or a sculptural accent, is selected not only for its aesthetic, but for its ability to exist within a home. “Every piece is chosen with great intentionality… whether someone is drawn to clean contemporary lines or something warmer and more expressive, our selection is designed to speak to different aesthetics while always upholding the same standard of elegance and quality.”

This balance between diversity and coherence defines the platform. In a city as plural as Dubai, Khoury navigates multiple tastes while maintaining a singular voice. “What holds everything together is a very clear point of view… every piece must still reflect the spirit of decore.ae: elegance, quality, uniqueness, and a sense of meaning.”

If objects form the visible layer of decore.ae, service becomes its invisible architecture. “True service is not simply about being fast. It is about anticipating needs and removing friction entirely,” she explains. From same-day delivery to discreet exchanges handled entirely on behalf of the client, each interaction is designed to preserve the integrity of the experience. The now-signature black box becomes an extension of this philosophy, transforming the act of receiving into a moment of pause. “Every box a moment of anticipation… every unboxing a small occasion.”

Yet decore.ae resists being defined solely through gifting. “Sometimes the most meaningful gift is the one you give to yourself, or to your home.” Objects move fluidly between personal and shared space, between gesture and environment. In this sense, the platform operates within a broader cultural framework, one where hosting and giving are deeply embedded. “Gifting and hosting are not mere gestures of etiquette, but expressions of generosity, care, and human connection.”

Khoury’s approach to selection remains instinctive, guided by what she describes as a coup de cœur. “Does it have a story? Does it have character? Does it feel genuinely distinctive rather than merely decorative?” The result is a curated landscape where difference does not disrupt, but enriches.

Looking ahead, growth is approached with restraint. “The goal was never simply to build something bigger. It was always to build something better, more meaningful, and more alive.”
In this, decore.ae aligns itself less with the logic of expansion and more with that of the home itself. “A brand, like a home, should never feel finished… it should always be in a state of becoming.”

And perhaps it is here that its intention becomes clearest. “We are not simply in the business of beautiful things. We are in the business of beautiful moments, and the memories they leave behind.”
