In a move that redefines the cultural geography of the region, Design Miami has announced a strategic partnership with Alserkal, marking the fair’s first Middle East edition, scheduled for early 2027. The location of the inaugural Dubai edition will be revealed at a later stage. Long regarded as the global stage for collectible design—from rare mid-century icons to cutting-edge contemporary objects—the fair’s arrival signals a new chapter in Dubai’s expanding design ecosystem.

More than a simple geographic expansion, the partnership with Alserkal reflects a shared ethos: design as cultural catalyst. For two decades, Design Miami has shaped the international conversation around collectible design, while Alserkal has spent fifteen years cultivating one of the most active cultural districts in the MENA region. Their alignment feels less like an announcement and more like an inevitability.
The Dubai edition will echo the fair’s signature model—museum-quality presentations, curated commissions, and a programme of talks—while placing regional designers and galleries at its center. A series of activations will precede the 2027 launch, building momentum within the design community and inviting both collectors and the public to engage with the narrative unfolding at Alserkal.

The move comes at a moment of heightened cultural activity across the Middle East: new fairs, new audiences, and a renewed appetite for design as both heritage and innovation. The arrival of Design Miami is more than a milestone; it is a signal that the region is ready to shape the global design discourse on its own terms.
