As Eid begins, the rhythm of daily life softens. The table, more than ever, becomes a place of return, where gestures of generosity, quiet gratitude and shared rituals take shape. It is within this atmosphere that three women shaping the UAE’s creative landscape come together, reinterpreting the art of gathering through design, craftsmanship and food.
At the heart of the setting is The Table Edit, founded by Maya Dada Malas, who provided every piece on the table. From terracotta pots and vases to bowls and platters, each object was designed and created by Maya, whose Dubai-born brand explores raw textures, natural imperfections and a refined, contemporary minimalism. Her work reflects a belief in mindful living, where everyday rituals are elevated through thoughtful design.
The composition of the table was entrusted to Yasmina Bayoud, founder of MENSA, the bespoke tablescaping and event design studio known for immersive, story-driven experiences across Dubai, London and Beirut. Through the careful placement of flowers, fruits and layered elements, she transforms the setting into a warm, sensory landscape, where colour, texture and form come together with quiet precision.
The culinary dimension unfolds through Somewhere, the Middle Eastern concept co-founded by Emirati entrepreneur Amal Al Marri and Saudi entrepreneur Deem Al Bassam, part of the Independent Food Company portfolio. Curated by Myriam Saad, Head of Brand Strategy and Development, the menu draws from journeys across the region, where each destination leaves behind a trace of flavour, memory and cultural resonance. Here, food becomes both narrative and connection.
Hosted at Somewhere, in The Galleria Mall in Dubai, the table emerges as more than a composition of objects. It becomes a reflection of contemporary Middle Eastern identity, where design, hospitality and storytelling converge.
A celebration of craftsmanship, togetherness and the enduring ritual of gathering.
Eid Mubarak.
