When Sonia West Sandefur left her chapter at Burberry to pursue a more personal creative direction, she wasn’t simply shifting industries—she was returning to the emotional core of design. What began as the renovation of her own family villa has evolved into Casa Roca Studio, a full-fledged interior and landscape design practice grounded in the belief that spaces should resonate as deeply as memories.

Initially conceived as a private home, Casa Roca quickly became something else entirely: a place shaped by the landscapes and textures that defined Sonia’s life—Ibiza, Bali, the Aegean islands, and her own Mediterranean heritage. The villa’s quiet minimalism, tactile surfaces, and raw materials resonated widely. Soon it was requested for brand shoots, intimate gatherings, and increasingly, for design commissions.
The transition from personal project to creative studio felt organic, almost inevitable.

Casa Roca Studio places emotion at the forefront. Its aesthetic champions raw textures, natural irregularities, and the quiet beauty of imperfection. The approach is not decorative for its own sake; it is a pursuit of understated luxury—spaces that feel soulful, grounded, and intentionally timeless.
Sonia’s practice now spans interiors, landscaping, material selection, styling, and full project management, supporting clients through every phase of shaping environments that are deeply personal. The studio’s ethos is simple yet profound: design should not only look beautiful, it should shift how one feels—how one arrives, moves, and lives within a space.
In Casa Roca’s universe, a home becomes a state of mind.

Adding another dimension to the studio is Casa Roca Curated, a quarterly release of globally sourced, hand-selected objects that echo the spirit of the villa. Each limited-edition drop explores a new theme—organic vessels, sculptural pottery, artisanal lamps, custom marble pieces—inviting collectors to bring elements of Casa Roca’s philosophy into their own homes.

With the launch of Casa Roca Studio, Sonia’s journey comes full circle. What began as a personal sanctuary has become a design practice in its own right: a studio shaping spaces that feel both elemental and deeply human—an invitation to live with intention, texture, and soul.
For readers looking for a boutique interior design studio to bring this philosophy into their own home, Casa Roca Studio is now accepting new projects. Discover more at www.casaroca.com.
